Today’s project recap is a result from another collaboration from Renee and I! Together, we work with business owners to revamp their website — layout, images, colors, fonts, content, and SEO. Liz and I actually “met” online as part of a group coaching program! The launch of her new website came at the perfect time as she just opened a second location of her business!

Puff & Fluff Grooming and Pet Sitting is located in Phoenix, AZ and provides their clients with cat and dog grooming, brushes, baths, pet-sitting and fun, local pet events! Liz was not only phenomenal to work with, but it’s so apparent how much she truly loves being a part of her community! If only I lived in Phoenix, I could take our pup to Puff & Fluff!

While looking at Puff and Fluff’s old website, there are a few good things:

  • They were concise in displaying their information and pricing.
  • They made their contact info very easy to find — on every page.
  • The original design was pretty clean and simple!

But, there were also things that needed fixed:

  • The layout of the theme wasn’t great for showcasing their shop or incorporating their brand.
  • Their pricing info was in a JPG, so it wasn’t very accessible or mobile-friendly.
  • Connecting with them on social media was a little hard to find.

WHAT LIZ HAD TO SAY

“Jess informed me of everything in GREAT detail, got things done in a timely manner, and was very pleasant to work with. Jess works hard, and works until you’re happy!”

A LOOK AT WHAT WE DID

Liz’s previous site was on WordPress, but for the new site, we switched to using the Divi theme. I love using this theme because it’s so flexible and easily customized — and also very mobile-friendly! I don’t build websites that aren’t mobile-friendly, so choosing a theme that fits that is key.

Liz had a great supply of high-res photos from a photo shoot at her shop. Some of these were on her previous site, but weren’t as big of a focus on the site. We made these a bigger part of the website, as well as incorporating more of her brand colors throughout the site. The purpose of her website is to help drive traffic to the site and get people to book appointments — so having contact info and call-to-actions on the website was really important!

Puff and Fluff offers a variety of services that are priced by the breed (mainly divided by size). Because of this, laying out the pricing information on her old site was trickier to do while keeping it organized and pretty.  On her new site, we used pricing tables that made sorting the information easier. Now, customers can quickly scan to find where their dog falls within the pricing table!

WRAPPING IT UP

After working together this past month, Liz now has a fun, colorful website that represents both of her shop locations! She had great SEO previously, so we made sure to maintain that when we moved them to WordPress. Renee integrated more keywords into her copy, and as I do with many of my websites, we utilized an SEO plugin and a 301 re-direct plugin!
