Boost Your Website’s Customer Appeal: Tips for Making a Customer-Focused Website

I hope you enjoy reading this post!

TRANSCRIPT:

I don’t know if you’re ready to hear this, but you’re going about your website all wrong. Your website isn’t about you. I mean, it is about your services, your products or offers.

But it’s not all about you, your website should be all about your customers and their needs, their problems, and you have the solution to help them. So we’re going to fix two quick things on your website today, to make it more customer focused, and less about you.

Now I want to clarify that we’re not removing every bit of detail about you, we still do want to know, who am I potentially working with? Who am I buying from? Do I trust her? Does he have any credibility? Is this someone that looks like they know what they’re doing?

So I’m not saying we don’t want to know anything about you don’t go remove your about page. But we just need to change a few things on your website to make your website more focused on the audience so that they feel seen and heard. And they start converting from just being an audience to being buyers.

So the first thing we are going to change on your website is changing a lot of the “I” sentences to you sentences. So for example, I offer a variety of services. No, no, we’re going to change that to say, you can choose from a variety of services to fit your needs. Now that sounds very basic, probably not even a great example of changing copy. But you want to have a lot of “you” sentences, it’s not all Me, me, me you are struggling with you need help with you’re looking for the light, this is the kind of copy we want to have across most of our website.

Again, even your about page is going to be mostly do focus, but some of it can be a little bit you focused. So your homepage and your services page especially need to have a lot of you sentences doesn’t have to be every single sentence, there are going to be instances where you still need to say I offer blank, I am here to help with blank, blank blank. That’s totally fine.

But most of your copy you want to start with you, then I want you to anticipate the questions that people are going to have or that they do have. I know you might not be thrilled with the idea of writing more website, copy or hiring someone to create more pages on your website. But again, this website is for your potential clients. It’s not about you. It’s not about what you feel like doing, we need to anticipate what people are looking for so we can serve them better through our website.

So anticipate those questions, get more clear about the details about working with you, including the pricing, maybe have some FAQ sections, and you’ll probably need to have some blog posts or videos, one to help demonstrate your authority and expertise but to also answer some of those questions, one of which might be again, is this someone I can trust let’s read or watch some of what they have to say and see if I think they know what they’re talking about.

You would be surprised or maybe not how often my clients who said I saw you on YouTube, I saw your helpful posts on Instagram, I read your blog posts, and I knew that you knew what you were talking about. And that’s why I wanted to work with you content helps demonstrate your authority.

Even on your website, not just social media, you should be able to knock out those first changes changing all the eyes to use or most of the eyes to use pretty quickly. You can probably knock it out this afternoon sometime this week. And then you can also start working on adding more details answering more questions across your website as a whole then start watching your analytics look at the engagement.

How many inquiries are you getting? What’s the traffic look like? You should start to see an uptick in your Website Conversions. If you have any questions about your website. Let me know in the comments. If you enjoyed this video, be sure and give it a thumbs up and I will see y’all next time.
