Let’s talk about your website. It should be bringing in new patients left and right. Think about it: when someone’s dealing with an injury or chronic pain, where do they turn first? Yep, the internet.
Last year alone, searches like “exercising for mental health” and “how to handle stress” topped the charts. It’s clear: people are seeking quick, reliable health information. But is your website providing the answers they’re looking for? Or are they bouncing to a competitor’s site that does?
Whether you’re a health institute, a medical school, or a hospital, your website should do more than just look good. It needs to be a resource that educates, engages, and ultimately drives better patient outcomes.
What makes a healthcare website really great?
When I was putting this list together, I looked at a few key things:
The Look: Okay, I’ll admit it – I’m a sucker for a good-looking website. It’s usually the first thing that grabs me. How are they using colors? Is the layout easy on the eyes? Do they have some great shots of their clinic and team? We’ll check out some of these in the examples coming up.
How It Actually Works: A pretty website is great and all, but it’s got to do its job too. Does it load up quick, or are you sitting there twiddling your thumbs? Can you actually read the text without squinting? Do all the buttons and links do what they’re supposed to? If your site works like a charm, you’re way more likely to turn those curious clickers into actual patients.
Getting the Message Across: Here’s a big no-no I see all the time – medical and healthcare websites that leave you scratching your head about what they actually do. Your site needs to be crystal clear and grab people’s attention. It’s all about having the right words in the right places.
