Squarespace or WordPress.org is the most common question I get as a web designer. Which one is right for you? It depends on your business.
First, let’s look at how tech savvy you are and your budget. Squarespace is better if you’re less techy, or if you don’t have the budget to have someone to make updates as needed.
Flexibility is where WordPress wins. Squarespace does have a lot of plugins nowadays. You can host a podcast and have a membership but there are limitations.
Squarespace does have e-mail marketing built-in, but I don’t recommend it just strictly based on my opinion that all-in-one platforms are not a great route.
In terms of SEO, WordPress does have more functionality. But I ranked in google on Squarespace, so it’s not impossible!
Squarespace is great for businesses like photographers or newer businesses who just need a few simple pages.
WordPress is great if you’re wanting to dive into products, tripwires, podcasting, memberships, etc.
